Chocolate Chip Cookies

Since the beginning of time, man has had a strange fixation with chocolate and anything made from it. Luckily for us, along with that obsession came many recipes. Recipes for chocolate products such as truffles, mousse and even chocolate ice cream. But when you don't feel like eating a whole chuck of chocolate by yourself, it's great to know that there are little chocolate rain drops in the form of chocolate chips that can satisfy just as well. And with those chocolate chips, you are able to make one of the most favorite desserts on the planet -- chocolate chip cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are the answer to many a hard day at work, school -- and in some cases, maybe even prison. Chocolate chip cookies seem to be able to mask sorrow and turn a frown upside-down. So to keep your upside-down frown on your face, here is a treat; one of our favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups milk chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
4. Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla.
5. Blend in the flour mixture.
6. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

You can also make the recipe on the back of a bag of Nestle Tollhouse Morsels to make soft chocolate chip cookies. In fact, you can adjust the baking time on most recipes for chocolate chip cookies to make them as soft or as crispy as you like. In our opinion, the best chocolate chip cookies come out of the oven when they look like they're almost done. Then you get a bit of a crispy edge and a soft middle. Yum!

Whatever the reason for making these tasty chocolate chip cookies you will enjoy them immensely. If you're feeling generous enough, make extras for friends who are into the chocolate chip craze. These magic chocolate chip cookies have been known to make wonders happen.
